Soaked Oats

A healthy breakfast that takes no time to make at all. Prep it the night before and you can have an awesome breakfast full of fiber goodness. The best part? You won't have to clean up any gooey pots that cooking oatmeal is known for.
  1. 1/2 cup rolled oats, raw
  2. 1-2 tsp cinnamon, ground
  3. 1-2 tsp chia seeds
  4. 1-2 tsp honey
  5. 1 tsp apple cider vinegar
  6. 1 tsp oat bran
  7. 1-2 pinch nutmeg, ground
  1. add to a bowl that has a lid (i.e. Pyrex)
  1. 1/2 cup water
  1. pour over ingredients & stir to combine
  2. cover with a lid & let soak overnight on the counter
  1. some fresh or dried fruit
  2. dallop yogourt
  1. in the morning, uncover & add whatever additional toppings you'd like before enjoying your healthy breakfast

Notes

  1. variations to add in the morning: grated apples & lemon juice; maple syrup & coconut flakes; sliced bananas & dried cranberries
  2. if using yogourt, there is no need to add it for soaking overnight - add some in the morning instead
  3. great alternative to eating boxed cereals for breakfast since you control what goes in & you get to skip the preservatives, too!
